SMP 2026

Blue Ridge, North Carolina

June 28 - July 4

This summer, SMP is heading to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina for a week of hands-on mission work, community connection, and spiritual growth. Nestled in Rutherford County, the area offers breathtaking natural beauty, like Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure, but also faces real challenges in the wake of economic hardship and recent flooding from Hurricane Helene.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for this year's trip is $300. The fee for each additional family member is $250.

Payment for your registration fee may be made via Lewinsville's online giving form. You may also pay via check — payable to "Lewinsville Presbyterian Church" and noted for "SMP registration."

Work Interest

Please select any areas of work where you have experience or are particularly interested. Although we cannot guarantee assignments in these areas, your input will help us better plan and allocate resources.

Driving

We will be renting vans and one box truck to transport ourselves and supplies. We will need primary drivers and secondary drivers assigned to each van. We need at least one volunteer to drive the box truck.

You must be 25 years of age or older to drive on SMP.

SMP Planning Committee

The election for the SMP 2027 Planning Committee will take place on our final night of the trip. The planning committee is made up of three youth (under age 19), one young adult (19-25), and four adults.

Youth and Young Adults will serve one year with the option of serving an additional year if they choose. After serving two consecutive years, they must take at least one year off before being nominated to serve again.

Adults will serve two years with no option to serve another two years consecutively. Adults must also take at least one year off after their two-year term before being nominated to serve again.
