We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with an organization called Facets to serve the local community for this year's Summer Mission Project!
While the COVID-19 pandemic will once again prevent us from a week-long trip, we will be working at one of Facets' group homes on Saturday, June 26 from 8:30am to 2:00pm.
Facets requires a minimum of 12 participants. No more than 20 participants will allow us to work within COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. The minimum age to participate is 14.
COVID-19 vaccines are not required, but they are recommended. Current protocols will be followed in terms of masks, etc. There is no fee to participate, but participants will be asked to complete a volunteer form and attend a brief orientation session conducted by Facets.
Projects will include painting, minor home repairs, yard work, etc. This will be rain-or-shine event, with tasks happening both indoors and outdoors.
Participants should bring a bag lunch. Water and a cooler will be provided. As the date gets closer, we will provide additional details on the exact tasks to be done and what, if any, tools would be helpful to bring.
Transportation details will also be arranged as the date gets closer. We will arrange carpools or provide directions so that participants can meet us at the work site.
To celebrate completion of another Summer Mission Project, we will host a picnic from 5-8pm on Saturday, June 26 at The Gardens at the Lewinville (behind the church).
Registration for the picnic will be required to ensure we keep within Lewinsville's COVID-19 policy in terms of crowd size, social distancing guidelines, etc., and to plan food appropriately (think Food Trucks!). Families are welcome.
