Hartsville, SC

Sunday, January 2 - January 8

The Winter Mission Project is open to current college students and recent college graduates. And you must have participated in at least one Summer Mission Project trip with Lewinsville in the past. Participants will depart on Sunday, January 2 and return on Saturday, January 8. This year's project will take place in Darlington County, SC (about 7 hours from McLean, 1 hour north of Columbia) and you will be framing a house. The Summer Mission Project team will then pick up where you left off in June with roofing, shingles, windows, doors and siding. You will be staying at St. Luke United Methodist. They have a large fellowship hall/basketball court, kitchen, and showers. The registration fee is $250 per person. Financial assistance is available for anyone who needs it. Proceeds from the annual holiday bake sale (Sunday, December 19) will help defray the cost of the remaining expenses. All participants who will be in town that day are asked to help staff the bake sale table and provide home-baked items to sell. Make checks payable to Lewinsville Presbyterian Church and leave them in the SMP box in the volunteer room at church, or mail them to Linda Bender at: 10300 Bushman Drive, #302, Oakton, VA 22124. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Bender at llbender1@cox.net.
